Alice

synopsis

ALICE, the twentieth film written and directed by Woody Allen, is a contemporary comedy about a wife who goes through a remarkable series of experiences at a critical point in her life. ALICE is about wealth, guilt, adultery and finding out what really counts in life.

Like many of Woody Allen's previous films, ALICE explores themes concerning family and love as it follows a woman's journey of self-discovery. In this film, Allen blends the comic and dramatic styles in which he has worked over the years, creating in ALICE a fascinating tapestry of intricately interwoven relationships, both real and remembered, played against an eclectic Manhattan setting.
